Business jargon

I am listening to the Cardigans, eating Girl Scout Cookies, and blogging. The Cardigans are one of those 90's bands I never let go of. I have a few of those, I am truly a product of the grunge generation...I'm not ashamed of that. At least once every few days I find myself secretly switching from my "cool" music and busting out STP, or Pearl Jam, The Breeders, Nirvana, the Lemonheads, Hole, Garbage....you get it. It's angry rock, and I embrace it.
So I thought I'd verse you all in a little "Business Jargon 101":
"We'll speak at this off line": Translation: we'll gossip about this person at a later time, when there are less people to hear the nasty things we have to say.
"She's a real Self-Starter": Translation: She (me) doesn't need someone sitting on her shoulder talking her through every task like a 5 year old...Because she (me) is not a 5 year old. Being a "Self-Starter"=good.
"Knowing where the bear sleeps": I've heard this one quite a bit lately. Translation: It means knowing whom has whom in their pockets, so to speak. I'm sure this term was derived from politics...if feels dirty and political.

Obviously I'm learning all the essentials in this city (hopefully you are picking up that thick layer of sarcasm)
