My moment with Devandra

Last night I had a moment with some music. Jen and I were out at Curt's mansion of a house as the sun was going down. We were sitting in Pauls room, waiting for him to take a shower, looking out the windows over this expansive view of clouds and sky and trees, and then Paul put on his Devandra Banhart record. And all at once the moment became that music. Jen and I were quiet for the entire record as we looked out and everything became about those songs. You know those moments you have with amazing music when your heart speeds up and you can feel your pulse in your fingertips, pounding. All at once you want to grin from ear to ear and cry at the same time. I love that music and art and thoughts and amazing conversation with people can have that effect on me from time to time. It reminds me how much of us exists on this unseen realm. The way our whole self can be so effected by sound waves bouncing off the little hairs in our ears. It is so much proof to me of the soul, of life, of beauty and truth and especially God.
